The big news for the week is the 5100 copies of Dead Life that were ordered by Hollywood Video from our distributor, Brain Damage films. Deals still pending from Movie Gallery and Family Video. We were turned down by Blockbuster but Brain Damage is going to take a second run at them and we will see how it will turn out.

Yes it has been a while but we are back with lots of news from SCHOTTEN FILMWORKS. First lets start with the success of our first feature film "DEAD LIFE". We signed a international and domestic deal with BRAIN DAMAGE FILMS. Through them we have already been licensed to Indonesia and Thailand for video and television. The DVD should show up in the states at many of your favorite retail chains around January of 2005.
Second, SFW has THREE shows lined up that we will be pimping Brain Damage products at and showing our ugly mugs to the public.

Pre production on our next feature film, Hide N' Seek has begun....filming will begin in late October, 2004.

"Dead Life" officially goes on sale April 1st, 2004. First edition copies (pre distribution copies) will be sold on this site.

Filming for our short, "Necrotropic", has been rescheduled for November 10th, 2003.

Schotten Filmworks will be heading to Los Angeles, California on October 22nd to supervise the film to DV transfer. When we return, we will then begin the editing process.

We have a date set for our 2nd radio interview on the Ron and Casey show. It will be October 29th, from 6-7 pm, on WKBN 570 am.

Gary Laurie, the awesome CGI artist, sent me a sample of the work he is doing for "Dead Life". The work is top notch and will really lend to the story. SFW will be traveling to Burbank, CA to do the film to DV transfer at the end of the month to kick off the post production. Also, SFW will be shooting "NECROTROPIC", a short for the film "Grave Tales" on OCT 29th.

We wrapped shooting on "Dead Life" on September 28th. The final scenes for the film came off great and surpassed my expectations thanks to the talented cast and crew that I have supporting me. I want to thank you all for your hard work and sacrificing all those weekends and drinking all those beers with me. The project is now in my hands and JJ's hands and we will now take "DEAD LIFE" to the finish line. Again, I thank you all and I will see you all at the wrap party : )

Schotten FilmWorks will be shooting a horror short for an anthology called "Grave Tales" The project is being headed up by talented Cleveland filmmaker Marcus Cook and hosted by B movie actress Robyn Griggs. Our contribution is a 20 min short titled "Necrotropic" It will be written and directed by William Schotten.

Shooting wraps for "Dead Life" on Sept 28th. In the middle of October, SFW will fly to CA to do our film to video transfer, so that we can move into post production. The "Dead Life" DVD will be loaded with features such as: behind the scenes videos, 3 commentary tracks, Dolby 5.1 surround sound and wide screen presentation.
